Children are welcomed into a carefully structured environment that mixes:

Rural life skills - And—importantly—time to just breathe and play

What Happens Each Week?
Each two-hour session is divided into short activity blocks. These blocks help children engage physically, socially, and creatively—without becoming overwhelmed.
Hobby Horsing (30–40 mins)
Children learn the basics of showjumping, freestyle routines, relay-style games, and obstacle navigation using sturdy, high-quality hobby horses. No previous experience needed. We supply hobby horses, though children are welcome to bring their own.
Animal Encounters (20–30 mins)
Kids meet goats, llamas, chickens, and ducks under staff supervision. They help feed, brush, and observe these animals while learning about their habits and care routines. The site is a living, breathing farm—not a petting zoo—and the learning is practical and real.
Nature Crafts (20–30 mins)
From medal-making to stick ponies, herb sachets to woven rosettes—every week includes a guided craft. We use as many natural and recycled materials as possible, and children always take something home.
Farm & Outdoor Skills (15–20 mins)
Children might gather eggs, refill hay troughs, identify edible herbs, or help sweep the stables. These activities are designed to build confidence and independence—not just keep them busy.
Flexible Quiet Time
Every session includes unstructured time for drawing, gentle play, reading pony storybooks, or chatting with a goat. These moments are ideal for shy children or those who need calm after stimulation.
SEN-Aware, Small, and Structured
This club was designed in consultation with SEN educators and child development specialists. Many children find large-group activities overwhelming or overstimulating during the summer holidays. Our goal is to offer:
- Clear routines and visual schedules
- Noise-sensitive planning (no loudspeakers, no megaphones)
- Freedom to opt out of any activity
- Trained staff who understand sensory needs, transitions, and quiet support
Children are encouraged but never pushed. This is a zero-pressure space.

FAQs
What if my child hasn’t done hobby horsing before?
No problem! Most of our attendees are trying it for the first time. We make it easy to join in, and the horses are lightweight and intuitive to use.
Is this a competition?
The club is non-pressured and child-led, but some hobby horse sessions may include friendly competitions for those who want to join in. Every child still receives a medal and rosette to celebrate effort and participation. The emphasis is on fun, encouragement, and going at your own pace.
Can I book fewer than four weeks?
Yes. You can book any number of sessions depending on availability. Some families attend all four, others just one or two.
What happens if my child becomes anxious?
Our staff are trained to handle tears, hesitation, and transitions gently. With small groups, we can offer tailored support—whether it’s a sensory break, buddy system, or sitting with an animal for a while.
